Get a Card

Do not create another account if your card “expired” or if you think you already have a library card! Please give us a call at (845) 495-0655 or send an email to clintonlib1215@gmail.com and we can sort it out for you!

For a physical library card: Please stop by the library with your ID and something with your current address on it (ex: a utility bill) to finalize things. Children under 18 must have a parent present to sign up for a library card. Visit us at:

Clinton Community Library (View on Google Maps)
1215 Centre Rd. (Clinton Town Hall Complex)
Rhinebeck, NY 12572

*We are located in Dutchess County — we are NOT the Clinton in Oneida County!*

For immediate access: If you live in the Town of Clinton, you can register today to receive an online card that will give you temporary access to our online services, including streaming videos, ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, emagazines, language learning software and more. Complete this form to register for a temporary library card. Please note that this card is good for 30 days. To continue using our resources once it expires, you must visit the library and finish registering for a physical library card. Please bring an ID and something recent with your current address on it (ex. a utility bill) so that we can verify your registration. Online cards will not be active after 30 days. You must verify your information with a staff member.

How to update an existing library card: If you received an email letting you know your card is about to expire, or if you received the following message while accessing your account online: “There is a problem with your library card. Please see a librarian,” you can renew your card by filling out this renewal form. Please allow 48 hours for your account to be updated. You may also call the library during library hours, to renew your card over the phone.
