Swing on by the library for an afternoon of square dancing! A square dance is a dance for four couples arranged in a square, with one couple on each side, facing the middle of the square. The caller first teaches the dance, perhaps going through it twice. Then the dance begins to live music. The moves overlap with contra dance figures, but the caller may change the couple who starts the figure during the dance. It’s a vibrant and exciting activity. Bring a partner, or find one at the dance! No prior experience necessary. Admission: $10 ($5 with valid student ID). Please bring a snack to share for the potluck table.
Caller: Kathy Anderson
Band: Clinton Hollow Boys
